A little bit of Disneyland came to Beanhill, Milton Keynes, at the weekend as part of a fundraiser to help a youngster with a brain tumour.
Woody from Toy Story joined five-year-old Harvey and his friends and family, including mum Anita Hawkins for the event at Moorlands community centre.
Harvey’s family and friends manned stalls selling items such as home baked cakes, helium balloons and hots dogs fresh from the kitchen. There was also a tombola and face-painting.
Harvey has recently been diagnosed with a benign tumour on his brain. The tumour is life threatening but currently surgery is too risky due to its location within the brain.
Harvey’s friends and family have set up a cause called Hope4Harvey and are hoping to be able to raise money to pay for a private medical assessment at King’s College Hospital in London. The aim is also to raise enough money to allow Harvey to attend a holiday-pilgrimage, organised by a charity called The Glanfield Children’s Group, to the French town of Lourdes.
If there is a small amount of money left over it will be put towards one or two day trips to help create some happy family memories.
