A campaign to win £50k of lottery funding to boost sport and well-being activities for people with disabilities in Milton Keynes kicked-off last week.

MK Snap is the only charity in Milton Keynes in the final of the People’s Projects competition.

The charity’s chief executive, Angela Novell said: “Snap to it! is about what people with disabilities can do. It will make a real difference to the lives of people with disabilities.

“We’d love everyone to get behind us. A vote for this project is a vote for Milton Keynes.

“It’s about creating opportunities to achieve beyond expectations, whilst really enjoying themselves and having fun,” explained Angela.

Snap to It! also includes a festival of sport and activities at centre:mk showcasing what people with disabilities can do on Disability Awareness Day, July 14.

The aim is to encourage greater involvement for all in sport and well-being activities across the city.

MK Snap won Royal approval from the Duke of Kent who said he was “thoroughly impressed” by how much goes on and is achieved at MK Snap during his visit last month.

Minister for Sport, Tracey Crouch, gave MK Snap’s health and well-being activities top marks when she visited last year.

Voting continues until 12 noon on April 30.
