British Gas is setting up shop at thecentre:mk to share energy saving tips until the end of January 2015.
Shoppers are invited to take a break from the sales and test their skills with a quick-fire ’60-second energy challenge’. Those taking part will get the chance to win a whole host
of penguin prizes, from cuddly toys to key rings, based on the penguins featured in British Gas’ latest advertising campaign.
Energy saving tips include installing smart meters to keep a closer eye on energy bills, to keeping a boiler cosy with a jacket or changing the settings on your thermostat.
If you can’t get to the shopping centre, you can still join in on the festive fun. All you need to do is share a #PenguinSelfie on Twitter and be entered in a draw to win a family trip to the zoo to see the creatures
in real life. The photo can include you and a penguin of any kind, the more creative the better.
James Babb, of British Gas, said: “We decided to go shopping centres across the country so we can speak to our customers face-to-face. We know many people may be concerned about their
winter bills and the British Gas 60 second energy challenge is designed to help people in a very practical way. Sharing these energy saving tips will help people manage their budgets and potentially
save money well into 2015.”
