A fundraising campaign with a rugby theme has been in full flow at Amazon, as the team at the Marston Gate site raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK during the Rugby World Cup.
A series of fundraising events was organised by the local Amazon charity committee.
The total raised so far stands at £1,167, with more activities taking place this month. The money will go towards Amazon’s goal of raising £50,000 for Cancer Research UK during 2015.
Events included a sweepstake, a World Cup-themed quiz and a Wear it Pink day.
General manager Ashley Cowen said: “We’ve got lots of rugby fans here at Amazon so our charity committee decided to capitalise on the excitement of the tournament while raising some money for a fantastic charity.
“We’re looking forward to building on this campaign by raising even more money for Cancer Research UK later this year.”
