CHILDREN helped to act out one of the oldest stories ever known to a packed house at Swallowfield Lower School in Woburn Sands.
The excited four and five-year-olds put on an impressive show of singing, dancing and acting for their Nativity and there was a wonderful solo of Away in a Manger by Melissa Stott.
Mary, Joseph and the Donkey were joined by innkeepers, shepherds, stars and angels and even Santa who made a surprise entrance to join in a sing-song at the end.
The Nativity formed part of the school’s gift service and the pupils had donated selection boxes for the Salvation Army to give out during the Christmas holidays.
The staff at Swallowfield were very impressed with how hard the children worked and their outstanding performance on the stage.
They said the children had done extremely well considering they had just started school.
