Steven Gerrard in frame for Dons management job?

Initial talks were held between the former England international about taking over from Karl Robinson, who left the club last month.

The talks, while only preliminary, could spark a bidding war for the former LA Galaxy man, who has also been linked to coaching roles with Newcastle, Celtic and Liverpool this week.

Gerrard is something of surprise candidate in the race to replace Robinson, while fellow former England ace Frank Lampard too has been linked to the post but isn’t expected to be included in the front runners.
