Stony Stratford blaze was caused by an electrical problem, fire experts confirm
Fire investigators have confirmed that the cause of last week's Stony Stratford fire was electrical.
But they cannot yet specify what the electrical item or fault was that sparked the massive blaze.
They have used drones to fly over the wreckage and take detailed photographs of the Tudor property in which the fire started.
The house belonged to architect Dick Post and his wife Helen, who were out for a walk when the drama began on Bank Holiday Sunday afternoon.
The fire investigation has confirmed their belief that the cause was electrical, as reported in the Citizen last week.
Historical neighbouring properties were also destroyed and businesses were rendered homeless.
