Hair Masters: Back in business

Its premises had been devastated by the Bank Holiday weekend fire in the High Street, but staff were cutting hair again on the Tuesday!

“It took an effort by hundreds of people – it was DIY SOS at its best,” said manager David Glossy who runs the shop with business partner Aaron Capasso.

David was among those who saw the fire take hold on the Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend, leaving the premises devastated and the business temporarily homeless.

“We assessed the situation and looked at what it would take to get us back to business. We walked the High Street looking for a potential unit,” David said.

And a space owned by fellow Stony Stratford company Profile Marketing was perfect.

The manager even cut short her holiday to come home and help Hair Masters get back to work after their close shave.

“I’ve worked here for 24 years and I have been overwhelmed by all the support we’ve received. People have been working flat out. One of our customers is a 92-year-old man and even he took a scraper to the floor to help,” David said.

“He said it was like we’d been bombed - that he loved the spirit of it all.”

“We want to thank all the community and the customers, each and every one of them,” David added, “I’ve been blown away by their support.”
