Students win scholarships for superb academic achievement

Two students from the new city are thrilled to have won scholarships for outstanding academic achievement in their university studies.

Both Jordan Smith and Nathan Caesar have been awarded a £1,000 scholarship each by the University of Worcester’s Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor David Green.

Twenty-one-year-old Jordan, who attended Shenley Brook End School, is in the third year of a Drama and Performance degree at the University of Worcester and has recently started running an after-school drama club in a Worcester school.

Jordan said: “I am honoured to receive this scholarship and so thankful to the University of Worcester for giving me with the award. Drama has always been a passion of mine and to be awarded for doing this course is just fantastic.”

Nathan, a former Denbigh School pupil, is studying Sports Development and Coaching at the University of Worcester.

The 19-year-old said: “I am extremely happy that I am being praised for my academic achievement in a career path that I have long dreamt about. This award will increase my efforts to work high up in the sports development area doing something I love as well as making my family and girlfriend proud.”
