Suchet’s familiar journey to centre stage

Long Days Journey into Night
Long Days Journey into Night

THEATRE-lovers are in for a treat this week when esteemed actor David Suchet returns to the MKT stage, headling the billing in Eugene O’Neill’s Pulitzer prize-winning delivery Long Day’s Journey Into Night.

The man most familiar to us as Poirot, has a list of other credits too numerous to mention here, although most recently was his appearance in the stunning seasonal production of Dickens’ Great Expectations, which was simply marvellous.

Long Day’s Journey Into Night is also a period piece, set in 1912.

The compelling family drama between James Tyrone (played by Suchet), his wife Mary, and their sons Jamie and Edmund has won a whole host of awards.

Starring as Mary is three-time Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf.

Plenty of us recall her starring as Jackie Harris in the sitcom Roseanne, but she has done plenty more besides – from Desperate Housewives to Grey’s Anatomy

A wonderful casting and a delicious drama, and yours to enjoy between Monday and Saturday.

Tickets start at £15 and rise to £30.
