Sun shines for Astronomical Society anniversary

The Sun shone on the day chosen by Milton Keynes Astronomical Society to celebrate its 40th Anniversary.

Members gathered at Rectory Cottages, Bletchley to exhibit their work and other current astronomical topics. Visitors were invited to view it free of charge and to attend short talks.

Observing sunspots came as a bonus throughout the morning and afternoon in front of Rectory Cottages. There were presentations too to remember the last founder member, Mr Peter New, who passed away last September. His daughter, Mandy, made our Anniversary Cake which was cut by his widow, Mrs Mary New.

It was an enjoyable and memorable day for the society and the public who visited.
