Swatch installation set for Milton Keynes festival

Nottingham Based Sculpture Artist Nadim Chaudry will create one of his largest Installations to date - a massive garden - especially for the city of Milton Keynes filling the large Art Marquee at this year's Art in the Park, in Milton Keynes on July 9 and 10.

The installation named ‘SWATCH’ is inspired by Nadim’s family background in tailoring and he will arrange a myriad of ‘Swatches’ in a rainbow to create a lush landscape where Alice in Wonderland meets a technicolour feast!

Buried within the garden there will be multicoloured ponds and fountains – offering a space- literally for all to enjoy.

“One of my inspirations has been the Islamic concept of Heaven depicted as a garden,” says Nadim,

“This notion of an oasis afterlife makes sense when considering that Islam grew from the desert regions of Arabia. “I also want to create a space that feels like a sanctuary and refuge paying homage to the global climate of mass migration and encouraging tolerance amongst communities.”

Other artists joining the Art Marquee include Razwan Baig, Mumtaz Begum Hussain, Ruh Al Alam and visually impaired artist Rachel Gadsden.
