Sweet success for Milton Keynes-based charity Snack Aid

Sweet-toothed staff have helped Milton Keynes-based Snack Aid hit the £100,000 fundraising milestone for its partner charity Make-A-Wish® UK, which grants magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

The franchise group delivers boxes of sweets and snacks to businesses and other premises throughout the country and donates 67% of the net profits from these snacks to the charity which it has been working with since 2013.

Jim said: “I would like to personally thank all the Snack Aid team whose hard work has helped us hit this target. There are many children’s charities doing great work, but for me, Make-A-Wish really stands out as it instantly transforms the lives of poorly children into something magical. We are very grateful to all our customers and with their continued support we look forward to hitting the next milestone!”

There are currently 20,000 children and young people in the UK fighting a life-threatening condition. In 2016 we want to grant more than1000 wishes and need to raise £11.5 million in order to achieve this. Make-A-Wish receives no government funding, so every donation really does count.

“A huge thank you to Jim and his franchisees at Snack Aid,” said Laura Fisher, Head of Make-A-Wish’s corporate fundraising team.

“We’d also like to thank all those peckish employees and members of the public who have helped to raise a lot of money so that we can continue to grant more wishes to eligible children.”
