A swimming teacher has won added another award to her impressive collection.
Doreen Adcock, 75, from Bletchley, picked up the Grannynet Granny of the Month award. Her friend Sandra Bald had nominated her to help mark her services in teaching MK’s children to swim over the last 35 years.
It was another award for Mrs Adcock, who previously won Unsung Hero award at the BBC Sport Personality of the Year and ran with the Olympic Torch in last year’s nationwide relay. She has also en a winner at this newspapers’ Pride of Milton Keynes Awards.
Mrs Adcock has been invited to speak at Stantonbury School on May 16 about the honours.
As well as winning a Memory Book from A Giving Tribute to keep a special record of photographs, Mrs Adcock now has a chance of winning the Granny of the Year award and a break at Enid Blyton’s favourite hotel in Dorset.
