Talented youngsters find their heroes on stage at city show

The talented yoyungsters, who meet at Shenley Brook End School, completed their final rehearsals for their annual show before heading to London.

All of the pupils who attend the centre performed at the Royal Albert Hall in a show about Greeks myths and heroes entitled ‘How To Make A Hero’.

Director Emma Meads said: “After working on their performances for almost two terms, the students excelled in the choir singing, as well as in the arena, dancing and acting, all their hard work paid off as the show ended with a complete standing ovation from the delighted audience.”

Emma added: “There are no auditions. We are just looking for kids who want to entertain us. All the children at our centre are there because they love it. Enthusiasm is the key.”

The fun of learning to dance, act and sing pays off every year when Theatretrain’s national director invites the theatre schools to a West End stage - in previous years this has included the Palladium and venues in Drury Lane. This year’s show in London was performed on Sunday, September 18.

MK Theatretrain offers three one-hour classes of drama, dance and singing in three age groups. Any child between the ages of 6 and 18 can apply. The centre also runs mini classes for children aged 4 to 5 year olds. Contact Emma at [email protected] or call 07787 123985.
