A tax affairs manager is set to run the London Marathon in support of the Lymphona Association and his girlfriend who was diagnosed with the disease as a teenager.
David Jones was inspired to support the cause after meeting Lisa Beadle, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 17.
The couple, who regularly attend group sessions in Milton Keynes, have previously raised funds for charity by taking part in a bike ride from London to Paris for McMillan Cancer Care.
They will be getting married later this year.
Despite a lack of previous long-distance running experience, Mr Jones is currently in training ahead of the big race on April 21 and hopes to raise at least £1,500 for the cause.
