MR MUSCLE Ted Brown is back to winnings ways as he won the latest round of the League of Extraordinary Benchers.
The 82-year-old has been weightlifting for nearly 40 years, but isn’t ready to stop yet after collecting yet another prize.
In the latest round of the league, which takes place at Phoenix Gym in Bletchley, Ted managed to bench 80kg which gave him a points total of 146. The closest competitor was Lloyd Strang, who benched 200kg for a points total of 112. Third place was Asad Asif who benched 170kg for a points total of 104. Everyone else varied between 40 and 103 points.
There was a total of 30 entrants and the regular competition has now turned into a league, ‘The League of Extraordinary Benchers.’ It costs £3 to enter the league, with the money being donated to charity.
