A teenager fought off an attacker who grabbed her from behind by her throat and neck during a lunchtime walk.
The 16-year-old was pounced on along V8 Marlborough Street towards Stantonbury at about 1.15pm on Monday.
She managed to fight off the stranger before running away.
PC Leila Butlerbased said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim, who was grabbed by her throat and neck from behind.
“I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in V8 Marlborough Street at about 1.15pm on Monday to contact police immediately, especially if you recognise the description.”
The offender is an Asian man, about 6ft 5ins, in his early thirties, slim, with short dark hair and a small goatee.
He was wearing a white cream top, like a dress with long sleeves, white trainers and black woollen gloves.
It is believed that the offender may have a London accent.
