POLICE are hunting a man after he robbed the Tesco Express in Tinkers Bridge last week, threatening staff with a knife.

At approximately 11pm last Thursday, members of staff were closing the shop when a man pulled open the front doors and entered.

He jumped over the tills, produced a knife, threatened a shop assistant and demanded cash from the tills before running out of the shop with coins and some notes.

DC Rob Snell, investigating officer, said: “I am keen to catch this man, who has used very threatening behaviour to steal a relatively small amount of cash.

“It has left the staff in the shop shaken and I would urge anyone in the area at the time who saw anybody matching the description of the man to contact me and help prevent him from doing this again.

“The robber is described as white, approximately 18 years old and 5ft 8ins tall. He was wearing a navy blue hooded top with the hood pulled up tightly around his head.

“Anyone with information should contact me on 0854 8 505 505 or if you do not want to give your name, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
