Thames Valley Police praised for 30 per cent reduction in crime


Thames Valley Police has been congratulated by a minister on its crime reduction success.

During a Parliamentary debate, MP Lynne Featherstone, minister for crime reduction, praised the force for managing to cut crime by 30 per cent between June 2010 and June 2014.

Ms Featherstone said: “I am happy to congratulate Thames Valley Police on all it has done in reducing crime by 30 per cent in its area.

“Effective policing plays a key part in reducing crime, as does tackling the underlying drivers of crime.”

The exchange occurred at a House of Commons debate on crime reduction on Wednesday, January 7.
