PERFORMERS of all ages enjoyed success at the Madcap Theatre this weekend where the 43rd annual Milton Keynes Festival of the Arts held its Speech and Drama Festival.

More than 200 performers took part in verse speaking, drama, reading and of course, Shakespeare, with everyone happy to take home a certificate of achievement.

PW Academy and the Milton Keynes Theatre Youth Theatre both won a trophy for group drama, and the more senior Third Age Players won the overall cup for their excerpt from “A Breath of Spring.”

Tim McCarthy and Norma Redfearn, who both travel the world adjudicating festivals, were on hand to give valuable feedback and critique, which was greatly appreciated by the performers.

The Festival presents its Choirs and Barbershop Event on Friday March 11 and two more days of dance on March 19 and 20, both at the Ridgeway Centre, Wolverton.
