Measuring an incredible eye-watering 1,569,300 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), the Guinness World Records named this the hottest chilli in the world!

“We have had to keep the chilli in a locked box in the freezer and only handle it with gloves, even the skin is extremely spicy,” said James Frosts, managing director at Frosts.

“The chilli eating contest is one of the highlights of the weekend and draws in a great crowd, so this should be even more exciting this year. It is a seriously hot competition, which makes this a real test of nerves, and stomach but equally fun to watch.”

If you are feeling brave, contestants must register to enter the eating content before the event by filling in an application form at www.frostsgardencentres.co.uk

The Frosts Garden Centre Chilli Festival starts Saturday 27 August and is packed with live music, salsa dancing lessons, ofood and drink exhibitors, free sampling and special offers.
