AN accident between a white van and a motorbike in Tilbrook last week has prompted some people to call the area an ‘accident blackspot.’
On Tuesday February 22, at around 4.10pm, the collision on V10 Brickhill Street at the junction with Sherbourne Drive, saw police and paramedics on the scene as the injured biker needed medical attention.
Police confirmed that the collision was not fatal but that the victim was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.
However the junction, near the Red Bull Racing factory in Tilbrook, has been the scene of a number of incidents, prompting some in the area to ask for traffic lights to be installed to break up the flow of traffic.
James Becker, who works in Tilbrook, said there were regularly accidents there.
He said: “The junction outside of Red Bull is renowned as being extremely dangerous and there are accidents there, almost on a weekly basis.
“How many more people have to be hurt before the council decide to put in a badly needed traffic light at this junction?”
Cllr Vanessa McPake, ward councillor for Walton Park, and cabinet member for Transport, said that she would look into the matter, adding that junctions and accident blackspots were being looked into across Milton Keynes.
