Tortoise rescued following suspected arson in Bletchley

A tortoise was rescued following a car fire in Bletchley early this morning which is being treated as arson. The fire, which started just after midnight at a property in Penina Drive, spread to the porch area and storage room in the house. One appliance and crew from Bletchley and one from Broughton attended, along with an officer and the British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service unit based at Bletchley Fire Station.

Firefighters used two hose reels, two sets of breathing apparatus and a toolkit.

Yesterday fire crews attended a blaze in the roof of two-storey commercial building used as shisha bar, in Wellington Place, Bletchley.

One appliance and crew from Bletchley, two from Great Holm, one from Broughton and one from Newport Pagnell attended, along with two officers. Firefighters used two main jets and a turntable ladder. The roof was 90 per cent damaged by fire and the first floor and ground floors were 70 per cent damaged by heat, smoke and water.
