A MARKET trader has been fined after admitting selling fake Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh on a city stall.
Amarjit Singh Bedi, appeared before Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Friday, pleading guilty to seven offences under the Trade Marks Act 1994.
The court heard that in December 2010, after receiving information from a member of the public, trading standards carried out a test purchase, finding a number of fakes.
They then seized 57 packs of cards, all found to be counterfeit.
In court, Singh Bedi, from Oldbury, West Midlands, was fined £350, with the council awarded costs of £250.
Head of Trading Standards, Karen Ford, said: “Sellers of counterfeit goods in Milton Keynes be warned, we will investigate and we will look to take further action against you.”
