Drivers are being warned to expect delays on the M1 early on Thursday morning.

A crash involving a lorry and car is blocking one lane southbound between Junction 11 for the A505 and Junction 10, Luton Airport spur.

Emergency services stopped all traffic at around 7am to allow them to deal with the smash.

Queues are back past Junction 11A and drivers joining the motorway at Milton Keynes and Northampton are taking an extra 20 minutes to get through the affected stretch.

Highways England are reporting it could take until 10am for traffic to return to normal in the area and advising motorists to leave extra time for their journeys.
