Gritting has started in Milton Keynes and across Buckinghamshire

Gritters in Bucks said on Twitter that county-wide salting began at 6pm last night (Tuesday, November 3).

According to the Twitter account, there was 10 grams of salt per square metre spread on the roads.

Why do we grit roads?

Applying rock salt/road grit to the streets is a good way of ensuring that ice does not form and the road is safe to drive on.
