Major disruption to trains in Milton Keynes and elsewhere due to electrical failure in Manchester
An electrical failure at a communucations centre up north is affecting trains in a large part of the country with many services being cancelled or delayed.
Journeys between Milton Keynes Central and Manchester, where the failure happened, are affected, particularly on Avanti West Coast trains.
Disruption expected to last until the end of the day, says National Rail.
Other affected services include CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, London Northwestern Railway, Northern, TransPennine Express and Transport for Wales.
Passengers are advised to check before they travel.
