Seven miles worth of congestion was signalled at 8am, with delays setting drivers back up to an hour.

The latest reports suggest traffic is moving at roughly 10-miles-per-hour between junction 14 to 15 Northbound on the M1. This is due to a broken down vehicle first reported around two hours ago.

Traffic is also almost at a standstill on he A5 between Weedon Bec and Crick as drivers attempt to find an alternative route off the motorway.
