There are severe queues both ways on the M1 near Milton Keynes after a four vehicle pile-up.

Three cars and a van clashed on the motorway this morning close to the junction 16 southbound exit.

Highways England reports that lanes one, two and four are blocked currently, whilst emergency services attend to the crash.

A four vehicle pile up has caused delays on the M1

Seven miles worth of congestion was signalled at 8am, with delays setting drivers back up to an hour.

The latest reports suggest traffic is moving at roughly 10-miles-per-hour between junction 14 to 15 Northbound on the M1. This is due to a broken down vehicle first reported around two hours ago.

Traffic is also almost at a standstill on he A5 between Weedon Bec and Crick as drivers attempt to find an alternative route off the motorway.
