TRAVEL: Getting to and from stadium:mk for the Rugby World Cup

Rugby World Cup: Temporary traffic management
Rugby World Cup: Temporary traffic management

From today, visitors from around the world will be travelling to Milton Keynes to be part of the Rugby World Cup.

MK Council are warning of disruptions on the roads. They will be sending out real-time traffic bulletins during and after matches to keep you up to date. Follow @mkcouncil or @rwc2015travel on Twitter.

Extra car parks and 60 shuttle buses have been organised for fans travelling to the stadium. It is hoped this will reduce the number of vehicles in the area.

With more than 20,000 spaces in CMK, parking enforcement officers and marshalls will be on the ground during match days to stop verge parking and parking in residential estates.

There is also a free shuttle bus service to use for anyone heading to stadium:mk.

They will run between Campbell Park, CMK rail station and Stadium MK on a regular basis three hours before kick off and up to three hours after the final whistle.

If you are coming by train, get off at Milton Keynes Central and NOT Bletchley or Fenny Stratford because the shuttle bus service does not run from these stations.

The drop off area for taxis is on Clarke Road, Mount Farm. There are no pick up and drop off areas for other vehicles. Taxis do not have access to Stadium MK during the RWC matches. The shuttle buses for ticket holders will pick up and drop off at Service N1:

Stop 1 - Elder Gate - o/s old bus station

Stop 2 - Midsummer Boulevard o/s Acorn House

Service N2

Stop 1 - Silbury Blvd next to Cricket Green Roundabout - Campbell Park

Stop 2 - Midsummer Blvd Westbound - o/s Theatre
