A trip down memory lane for MK50 fun

People can add their own chapter to the continuing story of Milton Keynes by sharing experiences and memories of the new city as part of the MK50 Anniversary Exhibition.

The organisers are inviting people to go along, talk to story gatherers and leave their thoughts on a special Memory Wall or be interviewed on video.

Stories might be about life before MK, arriving in the new city, helping to build the homes, or cycling on the first redways, as shown in this old photo from Galley Hill.

“We’d also like to hear from people from another country, who brought old customs and learned new ones,” said a spokesman.

“We want to hear about the good things, the not so good things - cable TV, waiting for a Dial-a-Bus, waiting for some local shops to be built, getting lost and the endless mud.”

Anybody with a tale to tell should visit the exhibition in Middleton Hall between January 10 and 23.
