Tuesday expected to be the hottest day of the year

The majority of the country enjoyed a hot and sunny weekend with temperatures set to rise even further over the next few days.

MK will reach peak heat from 4-6pm, and will only cool to an easier 26C when cloud arrives at around 9pm.

Temperatures will ease throughout the week from then on, peaking at a humid 27C on Wednesday with a chance of intense thunderstorms, and then 21C on Thursday.

Friday will still be a warm 22C although showers will be more likely.
