UNITE – the union that represents 2,000 fuel tanker drivers – has today ruled out taking strike action over Easter.

The union said it wanted to focus on talks to resolve the ongoing dispute.

The decision not to take action comes after a day of panic buying across the UK.

Although pumps were busier in Milton Keynes yesterday and some petrol stations ran out of diesel or unleaded and even had to close, the problem was not as bad as in other parts of Britain.
