UPDATE: Milton Keynes road still cordoned off after mysterious National Crime Agency raid on Turkish lorry

Police and National Crime Agency officers are refusing to divulge why a lorry from Turkey was stopped dramatically on a busy Milton Keynes road this morning.

The Citizen reported earlier that a large number of police and NCA officers swooped on the lorry after blocking its path on Newport Road, near Kingston roundabout.

Traffic was held us as cops searched the lorry, which contained racks of clothing, and up to three men were arrested

Eyewitnesses assumed it was a case of illegal immigrants but sources say it is “highly unlikely” the National Crime Agency would attend for such a situation.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police told the Citizen: “I can confirm that the NCA made arrests today in the Milton Keynes area but am unable to comment further at this stage as the investigation is on-going.”

An NCA spokesman also could not comment on the reason for the raid.
