Little Buster is not only top dog but he’s the winner of our Our Star Pets competition.
The contest, ran in association with our sponsors, Picanova, saw lots of adorable pets featured. Now the votes have been counted and we can declare the winner!
After sending in their entries earlier last year, all entrants’ photographs were published in a special ‘Star Pets’ feature, and readers were encouraged to vote for their favourites.
We’d like to extend our congratulations to Buster, the official Milton Keynes Citizen Star Pet of 2013, and owner Mrs Margaret Manning of Veryan Place, Fishermead, who is thrilled that her pooch has taken top prize.
“He is so lovely and very playful,” Mrs Manning said.
“He wants to play all the time.”
Buster – believed to be a cross between a Westie and a Shih Tzu – is only 22 weeks old, and like all youngsters has a favourite toy: “It’s a toy rabbit,” Mrs Manning said.
“He used to sleep with it when he was little and the rabbit was bigger than him then!”
Mrs Manning will have now have her favourite pet photograph produced as a canvas, acrylic or aluminium print of her choice (up to a value of £100), courtesy of www.picanova.co.uk!
Meantime, Buster’s owner is now officially the proudest dog walker on the estate: “I am definitely going to get him a crown,” she laughed.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the pets for sitting still long enough to have their photo taken, their owners for entering the competition, and all the other readers who took part.
It is a great pleasure for us to give readers the chance to see their friends (furry or otherwise) in their local newspaper, so thank you to everyone who made it possible.
We hope that Buster’s owners thoroughly enjoy their prize, and we look forward to seeing more Star Pets in the 2014 contest.
If you would like to be notified of the next contest (in advance), please register on the newspaper website to be contacted regarding future promotions.
