A 25-tonne truck, filled with water to help create one of the activity areas for a race around the lake on Saturday, was caught out when the bridge it drove over collapsed at around 7:30am. Neither the driver nor his passenger were hurt.

With the race diverted around the stricken vehicle, Crouch Recovery services were called into rescue the vehicle. Arriving at around 1pm, the team successfully moved the truck shortly after 5pm.
