Vikings go into battle at Emberton Country Park for 50th celebrations

The Vikings are coming to Emberton Country Park tomorrow as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Between 10am and 4pm, visitors will be able to wander around a Viking village and watch them in an exhilarating battle re-enactment.

It is the perfect opportunity to explore this beautiful park, with a guided countryside walk on offer, or you can sample locally produced food and crafts and try your hand at archery and axe throwing.

Dog owners are invited to bring their dog along and enter the “Waggiest Tail” competition, attempt to win a rosette in our dog show and watch an obedience display.

There will be lots of exciting children’s activities and play areas and a hog roast and beer tent for the grown-ups – or why not bring a picnic?

Pre-bookable camping is available – visit www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/embertoncountrypark for details.

The event is free to attend although usual entry charges apply of £4 per vehicle.

The park is situated close to the village of Emberton and the market town of Olney with easy access from J14 of the M1 and close to Milton Keynes at Olney Road, Emberton, Bucks MK46 5FJ.

The park, which opened in 1965, was originally a gravel works, but has now been transformed into an attractive parkland setting covering 200 acres.
