Voice of the Milton Keynes Citizen: '˜New university will give MK a real step change'
Our take on the issues in Milton Keynes this week.
A promised new university in Milton Keynes is set to give the city a step change in science, technology, engineering and maths.
The curriculum will see some 5,000 students studying in areas including digital, cyber, autonomy, robotics and artificial intelligence.
Those areas are promoted as being the future of jobs as old industries go into decline.
MK Council leader Pete Marland has praised the significant step towards a “bricks and mortar university”.
It is interesting to note that while MK has noble ambitions on the future at the same time it has a road network that, in places, resembles rutted medieval trackways!
