Thousands of vintage car lovers were given a New Year’s treat last week.
Because the Vintage Stony group hosted its sixth annual New Year’s Day Vintage Car and Motorcycle Gathering on January 1, featuring hundreds of vehicles dating back to 1898.
Ray Cobley, one of the organisers, said: “It was massive, the biggest New Year’s event we have ever held. We had vintage Hot Rods, early motorcycles going back to the 1920s, some Ferrari and Austin Martin classics, and the last Daimler double-decker bus that they ever produced. There were some pre-war hot rods, Model A Fords, there was something for everyone.”
Vintage Stony has hosted the vintage event twice a year for six years, and proceeds go to Willen Hospice.
This year’s prizes also featured a twist, as the Ugly Sisters from this year’s Cinderella pantomime in the town.
Ray added: “It was all great fun for the whole family - thanks to everyone who came along or helped make it possible.”
