Wavendon Golf Academy is celebrating after raising the grand sum of £3,472.19 for Willen Hospice.
After the seniors captains farewell golf day on Friday, February 27, Alan Rollings (Captain) and Mick Page (Vice Captain) handed the cheque over to Willen Hospice.
Mr Rollings said: “We have been raising money throughout my captaincy with scratch cards, raffles, collection bucket and our senior’s charity golf day which was held on June 20.
“During the June Charity Day we had a beat-the-pro competition, putting competition and an auction after the golf.
“This is the second year we have run this event and it has proved so successful the money raised has increased year on year.
“Due its success I have been asked to run the event again this year at Wavendon Golf Academy and the challenge is to beat the last two years success by exceeding the £4,000.00 barrier.”
This year the club’s Willen Hospice charity golf day is being held on Friday, June 19.
All golfers are invited to enter. So if you have an official golf handicap, are 55 year of age or over and would like to enter a team of 4 (any combination of men and ladies), the cost is £110 per team for coffee/tea and bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes of golf and 2 course Carvery after the golf.
