Wear blue to help hospice raise money

The Citizen is urging everybody in Milton Keynes to get in a blue mood next month - for the best possible reason.

Willen Hospice is holding a Go Blue for Willen week in a bid to raise desperately-needed funds.

We are hoping thousands of readers will show their support by wearing the colour blue between March 2 and March 8,

But it doesn’t stop there. Once bedecked in blue, people are urged to have fun and raise or donate whatever cash they can support the hospice, which is suffering a projected funding shortfall of £500,000.

Whether it’s a couple of pounds raised from a sale of cakes (with blue icing of course) or spare change dropped in a Willen collecting box, every penny will be appreciated and make a difference.

Hospice chief executive Paul Hinson said: “We’re in a very difficult financial position and our Go Blue for Willen week is an opportunity for Willen Hospice to raise much needed funds to help us continue to offer our specialist care and support.”
