The most likely time is between 7pm and 9pm.

According to the Met Office forecast people could see gusty winds and 30mm of rain in less than an hour.

A spokesperson said: “ Spray and sudden flooding may cause difficult driving conditions and some road closures. There is also a small chance of delays to train and bus services.

“A few homes and businesses could experience short-term power cuts or minor property damage from lightning and hail.”

But they added: “Although intense bursts are expected, many areas may still miss the storms and remain hot and dry.”
