Storm Francis prompts weather warning lasting more than 24 hours for Milton Keynes from tomorrow

Hot on the heels of Friday's Storm Ellen, the Met Office is warning that storm Francis will hit MK from tomorrow (Tuesday).

They have issued a yellow warning from 9am tomorrow until noon on Wednesday - 27 hours in total.

The storm will bring strong winds and gales of more than 40mph. This could lead to disruption to travel and power supplies, damage to trees and risk of injury from flying debris.

Travel by roads, rail, air and ferry could be affected. There is also a risk of power cuts.

The peak of the storm in MK is expected to be during Tuesday night, from around 10pm, when winds could reach 46mph.
