An amber warning means "extreme weather" is expected and people need to be prepared to change their plans and protect themselves and their community from any impact of the severe weather.

Travel and journey times will be affected and it is "likely" the wind will cause power cuts, says the Met Office.

Flying debris is also to be expected.
