What a Bow-tiful advent calendar

HOUSES in Bow Brickhill have been taking one popular Christmas tradition to heart.

Residents have been decorating their houses, windows and porches with festive lighting to produce a ‘Living Advent Calendar’ for people to enjoy as they pass.

The event kicked off on December 1, when a fir tree near the War Memorial was lit up with lights, with carol singers from the church choir and the Brownies.

Each participating house has been given a day when their display is highlighted with visitors often being invited in for drinks and refreshments.

Villagers will be able to enjoy carols at the Wheatsheaf pub, a tableaux of the Three Wise Men at 52 Station Road, horse rides for the children at the Stables by the Station from 11am-1pm on Sunday, December 19 , a living nativity scene at Driveway, 74A Station Road on December 23 and the Midnight Service at 11.45pm on Christmas Eve.
