Bookies currently make the Conservatives favourites to win both Milton Keynes seats in next month’s general election.
According to today’s odds (April 17), William Hill puts Iain Stewart at 2/5 to be re-elected in MK South. Elsewhere, Ladbrokes have him at 4/7, Coral at 8/15, while the best odds for the Tory on Betfair is evens.
Mr Stewart’s Labour rival Andrew Pakes falls slightly short at 7/4 on William Hill, with 50/1 for UKIP and Lib Dems trailing by 100/1. Labour backers can also find odds of 5/4 with Ladbrokes, 11/8 on Coral and Betfair at 16/5.
As it currently stands, bookies believe the Green Party has a 100/1 chance of securing the seat.
Over in Milton Keynes North, bookies are offering short odds for Conservative Mark Lancaster to retain his seat with 1/25 at Ladbrokes or 1/20 with William Hill.
The shortest odds for Mr Lancaster’s Labour opponent Emily Darlington is 7/1 on Betfair, but it goes up to 10/1 with Ladbrokes.
Smart punters who want to back UKIP would go to William Hill with odds for a win at 33/1.
