Where are '˜Mr and Mrs Milton Keynes' now?

The couple and their two little boys were selected as the perfect family to show how good life was in the newly-built city.

Former Development Corporation staff remember they were called Mr and Mrs P Fenton and they lived in Woughton Park – but nobody knows where they are now.

“It would be great if, through the Citizen , we could find this family and discover what has happened to them since this advert,” said a spokesman for the organisers, MK Heritage Consortium STACCess:MK.

“The children must in their 40s or 50s now. We would be delighted to invite them to the exhibition,” he added.

The exhibition will open in January 2017 at Middleton Hall in the centre:mk, and it will tell the story of how Milton Keynes came to life.

It showcases everything MK – from dinosaur bones to driverless cars, from Stone Age nomads to the digital generation and from farms, sleepy villages and Victorian railway towns to a vibrant regional economic and cultural powerhouse,” said the spokesman.

On show will be archive images, period videos, old TV adverts and original architectural models that have been in storage for years.

Visitors will hear the voices of the people who conceived and constructed the new city.

A spokesman for the event, said: “The MK 50 exhibition has been curated by volunteers and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

“It is a real community/edcuation/volunteer venture for Milton Keynes.”

The MK 50 exhibition will open on January 10 2017 and finish on January 23 - which is the exact date of Milton Keynes’ official designation 50 years ago.
