The Friends of St Lawrence invite visitors to wrap up warm and head down to St Lawrence, on Saturday, January 20, for the open church event as part of the MK50 birthday weekend.

Last year’s MK50 celebrations were very successful, with about 250 visitors in two hours.

St Lawrence will be open from 11am to 1pm and you can warm up with hot chocolate, mulled fruit punch, bakes and hot chestnuts and find out what was happening in this part of Milton Keynes when the new city was designated in 1967 and for centuries before.

Just five minutes from Central Milton Keynes, St Lawrence has been at the heart of the community for nearly 700 years and continues to be to this day, with the help of the Churches Conservation Trust and the Friends of St Lawrence.

Tours will be held at 11.20am and 12.10pm when you can discover more about the stunning medieval wall paintings and there is activity for children.
