A man was headbutted and another was bitten in central Milton Keynes earlier this month.

At around 11.20pm on July 4, an offender headbutted a 22-year-old man at the taxi rank near KFC at Xscape before going to the car park and hitting a silver vehicle, possibly a Vauxhall Astra hatchback, causing damage to the screen or window. The driver was in the car at the time.

The offender then went into the road, and was pulled away by a member of the public, a 26-year-old man, who was also assaulted and bitten on the arm as he tried to get the suspect away from the road.

The offender was then restrained by a number of people at the side of the road before being arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning ABH and criminal damage.

Investigating officer, PC Shaun Wood, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “We are investigating the assault and are appealing for either any witnesses to the assault, or anyone who helped detain the suspect prior to the arrival of the police.

“I am also looking to trace the driver of the silver vehicle, possibly a Vauxhall Astra, which was damaged. I understand the driver was in the vehicle at the time.”

Anyone with any information about the incident which may assist the investigation should contact the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
