Witness appeal after woman was raped on redway

A woman was raped in Milton Keynes on Friday evening.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident which happened between 6pm and 7pm,

The victim, a woman in her twenties, was walking on a redway near the junction of Passalewe Lane and Isaacson Drive, Wavendon Gate, when she was approached by a man from behind who subsequently raped her.

The man left the scene and the woman walked to Kingston District Centre.

The offender is white and was wearing a black sweatshirt. No further description is currently available.

Det Ch Insp Kelly Glister, from Buckinghamshire Force CID, said: “Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident close to the road at a time when it was still light, or who saw anything suspicious or out of place at these relevant times.

“All information will be reviewed and followed-up, regardless of how small it may seem, so please call the police as soon as possible.

“The victim is currently being supported by specially-trained officers and our investigation is ongoing.

“She walked to Kingston District Centre following the incident. I would like you to speak to my officers if you noticed a distressed woman in this area following the time of the incident.”

Officers have been conducting high visibility patrols in the area, to provide reassurance and to take information or answer questions as appropriate
